With the site being only two weeks old, we want to let you know that we are still in beta mode.  While everything should be working okay, there are a few areas on the site where changes and updates might be made.  Odds are, this will be the case eternally, and we, like Facebook, will live in an environment of permanent beta (but don’t worry, we won’t force you to adopt timeline).  The big upgrades and changes we’re considering are listed below.

Thanks for your understanding!

Gamers Against Bigotry

Areas of Consideration

  • Signature form questions: considerations include adding gamer tags and linking to social media profiles, as well as providing the option to denote preferred platform and clan memberships
  • Donation structure: the idea of having a “swear jar” functionality being tossed around
  • Forums: allowing pledged members to communicate with one another and organize causes; if this is something you’d like to see, we’re going to need volunteers to serve as mods

The Pledge:

As a gamer, I realize I contribute to an incredibly diverse social network of gamers around the world, and that my actions have the ability to impact others. In effort to make a positive impact, and to create a community that is welcoming to all, I pledge to not use bigoted language while gaming, online and otherwise.

Bigoted language includes, but is not limited to, slurs based on race? (e.g, "chink," "nigger," "wetback"), ethnicity? (e.g., "kyke," "polock"), gender? (e.g., "cunt," "bitch," "tranny"), religion? (e.g., "dirty jew," "papist"), sexual orientation? (e.g., "gay," "fag[got]," "dyke"), and disability? (e.g., "retard[ed]").
